About me

Hi,My name is Erin and I have been involved in the world of Environmental Education for close to 15 years now, and have a B.S. in Biology. I began my career as a marine biologist and marine educator at an aquarium , water conservation group, and the Newfound Harbor Marine Institute in Big Pine Key, Florida. I then took my field knowledge into the classroom as an upper school science teacher for a private school in NY, where she taught for several years. I have also served as an environmental education specialist and program manager for Audubon Greenwich and the New Canaan Nature Center. My teaching experience ranges from freshwater ecology, natural history, and birds of prey to ichthyology, oceanography, and food science. Most recently, I worked as an Outreach Specialist for the Department of Environmental Protection, where she taught Project Wild workshops to students, teachers, and the public. I am passionate about hand-on, interdisciplinary learning that enhances childrens’ understanding of the world. My motto as an educator is, “The more dirt the better… that’s why there are washing machines!”. I live in CT with my husband, our son, a dog, 2 chinchillas, and a fuzzy tarantula.
